EXPRESS ENTRY SETS HISTORIC MILESTONES IN MARCH 2023, OFFERING EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMMIGRATION TO CANADA

EXPRESS ENTRY SETS HISTORIC MILESTONES IN MARCH 2023, OFFERING EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMMIGRATION TO CANADA

Express Entry achieved several significant milestones in March 2023, including the highest number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) ever issued in a single all-program draw since its inception in 2015. The Canadian government plans to welcome over 82,000 new immigrants through Express Entry in the next three years, as indicated in the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025.

The month of March saw four major achievements, including

1. The largest all-program draws in Express Entry history

2. The issuance of 21,000 Invitations To Apply in two weeks,

3. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement in 2 years.

As of March 29, the cut-off CRS score fell to 481 after coming in at 484 during the March 23 draw and 490 on Mach 15.

Success in the Express Entry system is predicated on high Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores. This is because only those who have a CRS score above the cut-off score for a particular draw will receive an ITA from IRCC during that round of invitations.

We at Access Institute Magarpatta can help you to meet this cut-offs with the help of a high IELTS band score. Our extremely successful IELTS training module has guided many aspirants to their dream country, and you can be part of that success story too!

Why Australia has much to offer to its international graduates

Australia is one of the most popular destinations for Indian students along with other favourites such as the USA, UK, and Canada to name a few. High-quality education, with tremendous facilities across most institutions, affordable, and a very luring post-study work permit offering, makes it a very popular choice.

Highest Paying Jobs In Australia
Australia being rich in natural resources offers opportunities in several engineering fields and other fields requiring technical expertise. Also, with a growing and ageing population, nursing and medical fields are in demand and offer strong areas of employment. The financial sector is well known and coupled with the latest technological developments, a lot of newer jobs are emerging in analytical and business-related fields. At least five Australian universities feature in the Top 50 in the world, which adds further to the rising demand and guarantee of quality education.

Australia’s lucrative post-study work policy as mentioned earlier is another key reason for students to pursue it as a destination. For students looking at studying in Australia, there are three main post-study work visa options to get familiar with.

The Post-study work-stream visa
This is the most popular and flexible work visa as students can apply for this visa immediately upon successful completion of their course. Under this, students can work in any field or job for two years and have multiple entry rights to and from Australia.

The Graduate Work Stream visa
This work visa is for graduates with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations Australia needs. Under this category, graduates can work for 18 months, the restriction with this visa category is that the holder can only work in the specific skill area and no extension to this visa is possible unless the employer extends through sponsorship or the holder applies for another relevant visa category.

Skilled- Recognized graduate visa
This is largely for engineering graduates who have graduated from certain qualified institutions. The student must be under the age of 31 to meet the eligibility requirements for this category. Holders of this visa can work in Australia for up to 18 months following which they would need to apply for another visa in order to stay longer or get sponsored by their employers under a different visa class.

Overall, the post-study work stream visa allows the most flexibility to holders allowing them to work in any field in order to support themselves and build a career.

Why More Indian students are opting for Canada over US due to pro-immigration policies

Overseas Education in Canada

The number of Indian students opting for Master’s and Engineering programs in the US dropped by nearly 40% between 2016 and 2019, while the overall number of Indian students in Canadian colleges and universities increased by 182% over the same period, according to new research by the National Foundation for American Policy. The number of students in Canada is across all colleges and universities.

This is an indication how much easier it is for international students to gain temporary visas and permanent residence after graduating in Canada than in the United States.

“Canada has made it much easier than the United States for international students to work and become permanent residents,” said NFAP Executive Director Stuart Anderson.

Its post-graduation work permit (PGWP) is commonly seen as the first major step towards obtaining permanent resident status.“Canada is benefiting from a diversion of young Indian tech workers from US destinations, largely because of the challenges of obtaining and renewing H-1B visas and finding a reliable route to U.S. permanent residence,” according to Peter Rekai, founder of the Toronto-based immigration law firm Rekai LLP.

The Canadian government has made it increasingly easy for employers to attract and retain talent.

The country is expanding its immigration programme to accept larger numbers of new permanent residents, and this means more opportunities for international students in the country to remain after graduating from Canadian higher education institutions.

Overall, the Canadian government’s targets – as detailed in the 2022-2024 Immigration Levels Plan – are to welcome 431,645 permanent residents in 2022, 447,055 in 2023, and 451,000 in 2024. In the United States, H-1B visas are essential because they typically represent the only practical way for high-skilled foreign nationals, including international students, to work long-term in America. However, numerical restrictions on high-skilled temporary visas block the vast majority of foreign-born applicants from working in America in a given year.”

Between 2016 and 2019, international student enrollment dropped 7% at US universities but increased 52% at Canadian colleges and universities, the study noted.

Here’s a list of the steps you will need to take to obtain your study permit and prepare for your move.

Step 1: Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements by obtaining the required IELTS score
Step 2: Choose and enroll in a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) based on your IELTS score
Step 3: Get your documents in order
Step 4: Apply for Study Permit

Canada -A Popular Study Abroad Destination for Indians

Study in Canada

Why Canada?
Canada offers unparalleled academic opportunities to international students at an affordable price. It is one of the most sought-after study destinations that offer excellent student life, a high standard of living, and a multicultural environment that is open, accepting, and conducive to growth.

Besides the high-quality education and scholarships, the country offers extensive internship and post-study work opportunities as well.

Despite the pandemic, Canada has low unemployment rates, which speaks volumes about the country’s work opportunities offered to both national and international students.

To be eligible to work after completing studies, students will have to apply for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) within 180 days of completing their diploma/degree program. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Government of Canada announced that students taking online classes abroad up to August 31, 2022, will also be eligible to apply for PGWP. It allows students to remain in the country and work after completing their studies for up to 3 years. These three years act as a launchpad for students to venture into the career of their choice in a global arena, giving them a better footing in the highly competitive job market.

The icing on the cake is that it is consistently present in the list of safest nations across the globe. As it has less population, so is the competition level in the country, which provides more post-study work opportunities.

Canada welcomes the most immigrants in a single year in its history

With the significant exception of Indigenous people, all Canadians originally come from somewhere else. The story of immigration fills many chapters in the history of Canada—including the most recent one. To support Canada’s post-pandemic recovery and chart a more prosperous future, the Government of Canada set a target of welcoming 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021, as part of the 2021–2023 Immigration Levels Plan.
